As a "folk-activist" responding to the 2004 Presidential election, Johnny Lane (a.k.a. El Pollito de California) has resurrected and recorded a vintage original song called: "Old Beaten Road". He first wrote this folk song in the mid-1960s as a statement opposing both the Vietnam War and the political corruption of that era. It's ironic how things cycle around again, especially for this song, with only one contemporary quip added. Apparently the theme of American voices not being heard by their politicians is in-deed a timeless one.
